Default Thinking about a shorty

Hey guys, quick question. I have a 2000 F4 and a scorpion titanium pipe on it now.. I would like it to be a little more louder. I'm wondering if i made a shorty, would i have to do anything to my carbs? I just put a stage 3 jet kit on it and i also have a K&N air filter on the bike. Any input would be great.

reducing it by 1/4 or 1/3 shouldn't have any effect on the performance, but much more that that and you wil start to lose back pressure which will cause problems

The can is 18 inches and i was thinking of hacking about 7 off. I was looking at the how too's but couldn't seem to find the answer. Can i cut either portion of the pipe off because i would like to cut at the bottom and leave the top because of the colors.

If it has some kind of badge on the rear of it you should be able to drill out the rivets and put the badge back on the part of the pipe you left.

Its not for the badge... It actually goes from the bottom blue to to the top silver... I do care so much for the blue portion when my bike is orange =)

Update:

I ended up cutting the bottom off and luckily i did because the baffle was welded to the bottom. All i did was cut it off the top. All i need to do now is rivet the end back on. Will post pictures tomorrow after i am done.

Pix are up.. I think it came out good my first time doing it. Only thing i advise is to have the right tools and take your time.

It is noticeably louder then before. It may not be as loud as your D&D can but they are known to be insanely loud. It gave it a nice raspy moto GP sound if i had to describe it.

I was wondering do you have a power commander? If not, can you feel a noticeable difference of power in your bike?

BTW: the pipe looks mint! Great job! I'm going to cut my vance and hines tomorrow!
