Sprockets
Does anybody how many teeth does a stock rear sprocket have.
I counted my renthal sprocket and it has 45.
I'm thinking of going -2 in the front.
Is this too much and I should go for just -1.
Thanks

-1 in front and +2 in the rear. Dropping two in the front would be retarded. That would be like adding 8 teeth in the back. I dont know if they make a -2 front. But anyway that is the best setup that ive read about. That is my next mod. I hope somebody with this setup i mentioned can chime in and tell us how hard it is to keep the front wheel down in 1st gear under wot.
So... you mean leave my renthal with 45 teeth, and just go -1 in front.
I got a friend of mine change my rear sprocket and I don't know how many
teeth the stock sprocket have.
My front ones are still stock.
So...what I was thinking...if my rear stock has 45 teeth like my renthal now, I
will just go -1 in front.
Or that's just retarded....lol!

I have -1 in the front with a Vortex ALUM rear spocket ( stock ) teeth on the rear and the 520 chain and it's better, but not crazy! I am thinking about going +2 on the rear when I get a new rear tire. -1 on the front is like going up 2.75 on the rear.
You never want to go more then -1 on the front or you can risk the chain binding and that is all around bad.

I've been looking into changing my sprokets as well. I found a guy on ebay, and it was the only write up I liked, called him, and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. He suggested not going down in the front, and only increasing the rear.... i was thinking about doing a 16/50....any ideas, suggestions. i think it is similar to doing -1/+2

I've got -1 in the front and +2 in the rear with a 520 chain. Really made the bike wake up. No real control issues as long as your not greedy with the throtle layed over. I recomend it. -2 in the front would be over kill. You would spend your half your time up against the rev limiter.
