d_tran,

I've been down this road of thought when I was considering the split-seat conversion. Believe me, its just *much* easier to just get the right subframe for the job. I mean sure, you can modify anything but is it worth the time, trouble, cost, & effort? Short ans - NO.

The F4i subframe is so e-a-s-y to swap out w/ the F4, you'll just want to go this route.

Default Split seat for a f4

Hi Newbie heres, so please take it easy on me....

I know this questions prolly asked a million times in a million ways...

Need to know what year F4I do I need parts from to convert my 99 cbrF4 banana seat to a split seat?

And to confirm I require the following:
subframe
tailight
undertray
tail fairing
both seats
passenger pegs

Do I need new pipes? Curently a DND slip on..

Thanks

you can use your current pipe, may have to twist the mid-pipe to get it to align with the pass peg tho, mine did so your should. You will also need the rear tank mount bolts of a 01 - 03 F4i, the frankenstein bolts if you want those, if not reg fairing bolts will work. Will need the bolts for the F4i pass pegs too. Will need to relocate your fuel pump (f4i's is in the tank), I zip tied mine to the subframe until I did the RR swingarm swap.

GREAT WRITE-UP... To make it even better, I did the swap and I have all the parts someone will need for the F4 to F4i Swap. Anyone wanting the whole kit, get it for $450 shipped with tracking, which is what I paid for the kit.. In GREAT SHAPE. Got pics if needed... I also include the rear tail light, which was not origionally included when I made the purchase. Contact me at DDMGraphix.LLC@Gmail.com

Its_all_about_the_toys:

See my picture tutorial in my photo gallery. It should help you.

You don't absolutely *need* the F4i seat/tank bolts but it does support the front seat much better.

Also, if your 99 is like my 2000, you'll most likely want to reroute the rectifier to the left side of the subframe. I show this in my tutorial. It balances out the tail components. Not necessary persay but works better in my opinion.

If you need any help, please let me know. Good luck.
