Default Short Girl needs Help

I am looking at an used 2000 CBR600F4 the bike is in excellent condition and looks new. I am short 5'2" - straddling the seat I can tiptoe and the owner said I can lower the bike a little which is fine. The problem I have is in the riding position I am really stretch out on the tank to reach the handlebars. Is there any way to raise the handle bars up and back a little?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hmm.. I have an F4 as well and at 5'7 I had a hard time the first couple rides. The way Im thinking, if you were to lower the bike, you wouldn't be nearly as stretched out and prob a lot more comfortable on the bike. I know a lot of people that are 5'4 and they wear thicker sole boots (1.5" or more) and then a few lowered the suspension a bit and some didn't. I'd say get thicker boots and lower the bike as well as get adjustable clutch and brake levers for the handle bars to help you grab them without reaching so far.

I am 4'11" and have 600rr and gsxr 750. You will get used to with it. I am more leaned over all the time than people normal size. But I do not have any problem with tip toed on lowered bike. If you do lower it, look into Soupy's lowering link. Soupys Performance, Motorcycle Lowering Kits, Motorcycle Raising Links You might also have to get different kickstand depends on how much you are lowering.

When you wear riding boots, it will give you more reach on the toe. I would leave it if you can touch the toe.

As for the handlebar, you can get those riser thing. Honda F4i 2001-06 LSL Handlebar Riser Kit from SportbikeTrackGear.com It will not bring the bar towards you though. So for your purpose, I am not sur if that will work

you also might look into woodcraft clip on risers, this way you wont have to convert to dirt bars

Clip-ons all www.woodcraft-cfm.com

Thank you everyone for your replies. I am checking into the links now. I really hope this works The owner was concerned about the riding position and is hesitant to sell me the bike until we can get something figured out which I greatly appreciate his concern.

Thank you for the welcome!

Call my local Honda dealer and they suggested something called Convertibars? Anyone have any insight on this product?

convertibars.com

They are kind of expensive though... but they might give you the difference you need.. personally if you can at least flat foot it you should be fine.

Lower the bike and maybe even have the seat shaved and redone.

good luck!

Here's my 2 cents.. Have the bike lowered and put thick soled boots on and try the bike. The dealer wants you to spend money but the bike might be perfect for you without doing that
