Question Rattle noise from engine

I have a cbr 600 f4, 1999 with only 10,000 miles on. When you rev the engine there is a rattle from the r/h side of the engine.
I think this is down to the cam chain tensioner as HONDA'S ARE PRONE TO CAM CHAIN RATTLE.
Anyone know roughly how much it would cost to fix problem at a garage.
Thanxs

It is an easy fix.
IF you have any mechanical know how you can have it done in an hour or less
Here is the a site that gives you step by step instructions: http://www.bossturbo.com/cbr/howto_cct.shtml
The part oem will cost you about 45 and 3 for the seal.
Good luck

Yeah.. The two hondas that i have owned (f4 &f4i) both have had them go bad.. If you can deal with the rattling then go for it.. I rode my F4 for a good 12000 miles before changing it. I generally run a shorty pipe that is louder then the rattle =)

When I got my F4 it needed a CCT, I spent a couple extra bucks ($53) for an APE manual CCT. Now whenever I get some chain rattle, I pull off my tank and tighten down the CCT with a 17mm wrench, and I'm done.

Yeah, that's a big point of contention; the noise doesn't seem to indicate that anything is broken, per se. If you can live with the noise, then just ignore it. Otherwise, go APE.
