Powder coat all the way. Paint will chip from rocks and what not on the road but powder coating is much thicker and durable.

Powder coating is REALLY hard to remove, so if you want to change the color in the future, just paint them. Powder coat is far more durable though. I painted mine, and they are holding up just fine.

Paint chips but there is a theory that powder coating weakens rims so jsut do what you feel is right

Just in reply, I am wondering why you would think that powder coating would weaken your wheels? Would you think it would be the heat or the electricity? I mean the heat isn't that intense (about 400 degrees F)? I was just wondering if you know where this theory has come from?

Powder coat all the way!!! Its extremely durable and is hard to scratch. Im getting my frame and other various parts of my bike coated when I have some down time this winter, I can't take away from my summer riding

Actually I don't know where it comes from just something I heard.

Note: I have no idea if it is true or false.

Powder coat. Good finish, hard to scratch, durable, and easy to clean.
