So I was riding home in the rain last night. trying to make it to work in back on a single tank of gas and not wanting to stop because of the weather. My fuel light came on and in under 8 miles my bike was sputtering and came to a stop along side the freeway. Fortunately I was about 100 feet From the exit when I was a gas station right there. When I filled the tank It only took 3.75 gallons. I was under the impression is by to 4.5 gallon tank. Do we have a fuel reserve or wood turning the petcock to 1 of the other On positions give me a little bit more juice for the ride home? I've only had this bike for a month And everything else seems to function well on the bike I'm having a lot of fun riding it I just don't know a lot of the specifications on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

 

On a carb'd bike you have 3 positions on your petcock. On Off and Reserve. Reserve is where that extra ~0.75 gallons is. Just be sure to switch it back to On once you refuel :P
