Isn't this fine?

I have three bikes and can't ride any. One has no registration or insurance, one has no baffles in the exhaust (bike in avatar) and is unbearably loud, and the last seems to have a bad fuel pump. (f4)

I bought gas and made it about two blocks away when the bike died. (f4) I thought maybe I had bought bad gas, so I finally got around to draining the carbs and there was nothing. My fuel pump (I think it's a fuel pump) does nothing. No hum, no vibrate, nothing. I took power directly from battery to the pump and got nothing, I then checked to see if I had power with the key on and I do. I checked continuity in the pump and got 300+ ohms, and checked a nearby ac motor and got no ohms. I also put gas in all the carbs and it started.

So, looks like a fuel pump. Is there anything else I should check while I have the tank off?

I can't find a fuel pump on the parts fiche. ??? http://www.ehlerdingmotorsports.com/...ion_detail.asp

did you jump the plug connector that plugs into the fuel cutoff relay? read the owners manual on the fuel cut off relay.

No, I have power at the pump plug, why would the relay be bad?

I did get it to work. How long I know not. I took the plastic off the end and looked at the electrics, the contacts are crusty. I gave the plunger a twist and a tug and it moved, so I put it back together and plugged it in. It worked, so I rode it to work and back yesterday.

Aweasel, thanks for the part number.
