Idling Issues??
So I just put in a K&N filter on my F4 which already has a erion slip-on and I when I riding today the bike would not idle without the choke on. I don't know why this happened as it had been idling fine. Any ideas on what to do???

have you adjusted the idle screw or is it too lose? or the fuel/air mix is so low that when your choke is off the mix is not getting enough fuel?
|
Yeah I plan on messing with the idle screw when I get a chance to go back home..... And as for the mixture it might be too lean since the previous air filter was completely filthy when I removed is however the previous owner could have adjusted the idle in order to get it to idle with the previous filter...

I dont think thats the case it might be, but i think it lies in your carbs. have they been cleaned or synced, is the fuel regulator good? and clockwise is a higher idle and counterclockwise is a lower idle
|
Yeah I'm thinking about just going with pulling the carbs off and giving them a good ol fashioned cleaning to get my bike in better running condition. I figure better safe than sorry I'm thinking the idle jet might be gummed up some. I think there is a good write-up on this site and it can't be any harder than rebuilding a car carb

also make sure that your airbox is sealing enough on teh carbs... when you raised the gas tank you might have pulled the airbox up.. I did that once..

Ok thanks I would not have thought have that.
