I have a question
 

I'm new to this whole street bike thing, and I just bought a 2000 honda cbr 600f4 and on a cold start it'll run with the choke on but the second I hit the gas it sputters and dies. Sometimes it'll run fine and I can actually take it down the street and back,but if I park it and come back out it'll do the dying thing again, I'm not a retard when it comes to mechanics but I don't know a whole lot about these bikes so if anyone could help me out that'd b great. I've exhausted all my options and I really wanna ride

Well, you posted your question in someone else's thread, and in the F2 [or F3, I can't remember now] section when you have an F4.

So I started you a thread in the F4 section where it belongs.

Now you have a better chance of getting some answers.

That's how most carbed bikes are. The choke is really only to be used for warm up. Once the bike is up to operating temps, then the choke should be off. Some bikes are pretty sensitive to cold temps (my daughter's 08 250 Ninja hates running when the temps are under 60 degrees F, and needs the choke to be on for what seems like forever).

That said, it sounds like you may be having jetting or even float issues if you're needing to leave the choke on for more than a few minutes.

After starting, let it run for about a minute and then slowly and incrementally bring the choke back to off. If the idle settles, then that's working fine. Check and adjust the idle RPM using the adjuster on the left side of the motor, it's a knob attached to the end of a cable and is hanging free. Check the throttle operates freely.

Check that your battery cables are tight and the battery is fully charged if you have a multimeter.
