well i guess it had to happen sometime, i damn dropped the bike in my parking spot because.....drumroll.....i forgot to put down the MFing kickstand. IDIOT.

anyway, i let it down easy, just scratched up the end case a little bit.

my question is are those cases pretty thick? it didnt crack that i can see and the scratches arent bad, im just curious.

When I dropped my bike I couldnt see anything wrong with the case until oil started leaking out of it about 2 days later. It had a super super super tiny hair line crack in it. Those cases are only like $60.00 on ebay... just get a new one and throw it on for good measure. Better safe than sorry.

i wouldnt fix it unless it starts to leak my bike was dropped b4 i got it and it has some scratches on the case and it dont leak, like they say if it aint broke dont fix it unless you dont like to see the scratches

That sux dude. At least you let her down slow. If the case doesn't have any cracks or leaks and you don't mind the scratches than why replace it? Who knows, You might drop it by accident again.

 

Eh, we've all been there. Well, some of us have. My first bike i parked on a slight downward hill in N, it rolled forward off the kick stand and added scrapes on top of the existing scrapes.

 

i lowsided mine and case hit and got all scratched up, weaped oil...and what not...i ended up ordering a new one but while it was coming, i just checked all the bolts and torqued them to spec and the oil stopped leaking!

 

don't feel bad dude...most of us have had something stupid like that happen...on my way to do grad work at u of memphis this summer i was at a stop sign and was waiting on traffic...my right boot was uknowingly in some oil and my leg slowly slid out and i lightly dumped it...wait here's the good part...as i picked it up, my left foot lost traction in some different, equally sneaky oil and i lightly dumped it on the left side...i was so pissed all i could do was laugh...i was able to buff out the plastics but, not my ego that day

im not sure of the diffrences on the covers but i have an f1 and on the left side its missing about 1/3 of an inch off the bottom and it dosn't leak. i did that when i first started too. dont feel bad happens to the best of us.
