How often do you have to adjust your chain?
#11
I have very roughly 5,000 miles on my new chain and sprockets, and haven't had to adjust the chain yet since it was installed. As was said, follow the factory service manual or the sticker on the swing arm for chain tensioning, which does NOT include you sitting on the bike. If static sag is where the FSM specifies, then the proper adjustment will be performed while the bike is on the side stand, just like the FSM specifies. Honda has smart people working for them, or at least people who know how to use a compass (as in compass and protractor), so they know how much the chain will tighten and loosen as the swing arm swings through its entire arc.
