Default Good deal?

Hi all,
I have been without a bike for 8 yrs now and have decided to get back in. I have an opportunity to buy a 1999 cbr600 for $2800:

Does this seem like a good deal? The plastic is in perfect shape just needs a new rear tire. Also where would I look for a matching helmet for this bike? I am sure the big name helmets make them to match the color scheme.

looks pretty good for the price...I'd even offer 2500 cash and see if he bites.

NADA has it at $2,690 - $3,484

Thanks that is what I was thinking as the person told me they are buying a new gsxr 1000 and was going to trade it in but was going to see if she could get more selling online first. So my thoughts are she is getting screwed at trade in and anything over $2000 she will be making out.

Check for clear title and the obvious stuff... (tires, rotors, etc)

Make sure the VIN matches title to bike

Thats a pretty good deal. I wouldnt even sweat the mileage. I just sold mine with 32000 on her and she never missed a beat

I find out tomorrow if I get it. There is lots of interest in the bike and tomorrow I go to look at it with cash and tag in hand so if I get to it before others I should get it as I will offer $2500 which seems good all the way around?

Well this is not going to work out as I was supposed to look at it this evening and the person cancelled for the 3 rd time. I have been trying to see this for a week and something keeps coming up when we are suppose to meet. I am out and the search continues.

Buying for private sellers sucks.
