Does anyone know what the difference is between the FY and FS sport? Uk spec
Is the riding position the same, insurance group, seat height, suspension etc?
I'm thinking of buying one and not sure if the riding position on the sport would be a bit more radical

The FY has a banana seat where as the FS sport has a split seat for starters, so comfort will differ slightly (especially for the pillion). The FY also has a pillion grab handle unlike the FS sport. I'm not sure if the foot peg positions are any different or the handle bars height for that matter though. There's a few changes to the motor for a slight increase in power on the FS sport. I think you'll also find they're of a higher insurance group than the FY, though I'll have to check that out for you in one of my hundreds of bike magazines lol. I'll get back to you on that one a bit later. You'll also find the front lights are different, the FY has a single light where as the FS sport has the foxeyes. In my opinion the FY's single light looks far nicer than the foxeyes. Anyway I hope that helps.

 

Riding position is the same, but the FY seat is much comfier. Pegs and bars the same height. FY has a centrestand. F sport has harder valve springs and a few other internal mods for use with the race kit, but these are otherwise unnoticable, you cant feel/see them. Dash is different, FY has dial clocks wheras the sport has digital speedo.
FY has carbs and feels much smoother to ride, and gives (me) much better fuel return than cleaner burning fuel injection. F sport seat unit looks better! F sport has different colour fork legs.
