Default Fuel Light Question

So when the fuel light comes on how much gas do you have left in the tank?

I usually try and hit a gas station within 20 miles of the light coming on. Anything more and I get really antsy. I think the most Ive had to put in the bike before was 3.56 gallons.

I have put 3.74 gallons in before, think the tank holds 4.5? But I usually fill up at the nearest gas station when the light comes on, usually no more then 20 miles.

Now how about a real number on how far you can get (roughly) on the gas left in the tank once the light comes on. I'm pretty sure it's more than about 20 miles.

OK it's an 18 litre tank (4 imp. gallons) with 1/2 imp gallon reserve ( just over 2 litres) depending on how you ride 20 miles is about it but i have done a few more, i've also run out too! consider you probably get about 10 miles per litre ( or just under)

Well... I can't remember the exact number of liters in the tank. I think the tank is 18 Litres, and the light comes on around 2 Litres left.

I CAN get about 300km (180 miles) (on a good day) before the light comes on. AT THAT HIGH FUEL MILAGE you could get 37.5 km (~22.5 miles).

If you decrease the distance travelled, before hitting the light (lower fuel milage), to 250km (150 miles) it works out to 31km (~18 miles)...

if you decrease it down to 200km (120 miles) on the tank you can get 25km (~15 miles).
if you decrease it down to 150km (90 miles) on the tank you can get 18km (~11 miles).

Rough numbers of course.

WOOT, nice to have you and your numbers for company I've never got down to 18.5 miles though on reserve, but i tend to ease off when the light comes on as most of my riding is on motorways with limited fuel stops.

BTW reserve must be a little more than 2 litres, as i never see 180 on a tank full and always get at least 20 miles on the light.
