Fuel light on f4i gauge swap

Fuel light on f4i gauge swap
I've been searching around and haven't found an answer to this, but is there anyone who has wired up something with their f4i gauges to light up for the low fuel indicator?
I bought a 99 f4 to replace my 95 f3 which was stolen (it had the f4i front conversion and gauges done) and today the bike was found and I got it back. i'm probably going to change it back to all stock fairings since it got a bit beat up while it was gone and was considering swapping the gauges onto the f4 and doing the f4i upper, since now my headlight and stay etc is all back now too.
on the f3 there was never any low fuel light I'd always just feel it die and switch to reserve so it's not a huge deal but it might be convenient to have an actual light.

The f4i uses a sensor that tells the gauge to turn on.. Unlike our f4s that just have the light.. I know that the sensor simply completes the circuit,. I suspect that it simply provies the ground rather than power.. Much like an electric fan switch.
The f4i uses a separate sensor in the tank that the f4 does not have... But when I was considering using the f4i gauges I suspected that there might be a way to use the f4is "FI" fuel injection fault light as a low fuel light... Never did the project so I can't tell you if it works or not.. Bt i suspect that it very well might.. If worst ones to worst, you culd wire up a simple amber LED and have it somewhere in the dash area or even the cluster itself spliced into the F4's harness plug to be used as a low fuel light just as the original one..
Good luck

yea i was actually curious about those 2 options since there is the fi light on the gauges already i had wondered if i could somehow wire it to work for that.
or as you mentioned an external led in which case id just have to look at the wiring schematic and find out if the low fuel wire on the f4 provides ground and then id just need to run power to the light i add in...
but yea curious if anyone else had done it since im still in the research phase and wont be touching the bike until the spring time.
also just for anyone interested, some pics of the f4 and the new damage to my f3
