Right that explains it then. In the UK, it's sensible to have your bike lights on for safety, however it's not a legal requirement, so they don't auto come on (on my sons CBR125 2007 plate, his automatically do). On mine and all 1999/2000 models for sure they have these two bulbs and we call the small one a sidelight and the bigger one the main beam. Like in a car.

Yeah the little bulb (T10), you simply reach under the fairing, and twist it and it pops down to replace.

Right least we've sorted that, thought I was going mad lol.

haha yea, i think i might want to invest in that setup though! sounds like it would be easier and cleaner than hooking up some other aftermarket switch to shut off my headlight! because when i pull into my driveway at night, my light shines right into my neighbors house, and also im installing a led kit on the bike, and it would be nice to be able to have that on without having the headlight on.

hmm.... well thats odd... i installed mine back in may, and i ride mine about 3 hours a day almost every day. and the bulb still shines just the same as the day i installed it. ill even try the spare tomorrow to see if they are both actually the same, but i havent noticed any change.
