A Few Issues

Hey guys i have a few questions that searching the forums either yielded a little information or not exactly what i was looking for. Anyway the first problem is that my running tail light wont stay on. Meaning that if i dont have the brake pressed the tail light wont light up but it will once the brake is pressed. This is starting to cause problems with riding at night because it makes it harder for people to see me and i dont want to die because of a simple electrical issue. The Second thing is for some reason after my bike was pushed over by my crazy ex it seems that my bike now runs hotter and it has a rough idle. The idle is so bad that if i take my hand off the throttle it will stall in about 2 minutes. For the heat issue i was thinking about flushing the radiator but should i also change the fan even though i can hear it running when it gets hot? And BTW before my bike was pushed over i had the brake light problem but not the heat issue or the idle problem. Any help or links to threads that can help me would be greatly appreciated. I just wanna ride without issues like i was before all this random stuff. My bike is a 2000cbr600f4

dumb question but do u have the stock tail light if so may just be the bulb or a short if your tag lights workin ur runin light should have power

It sounds like a grounding problem makes sure the wires are not shorting and are hooked up as for the overheating I would pull the thermostat test it make sure its doing what it SHOULD be doing... If the fan is coming on then its doing its job don't change it unless the fins coming off of it are damaged.

as for the rough idle what side was laid on? have you checked the carbs? when she knocked it over it could of threw the carbs outa sync

I agree. Check bulbs, connectors/connections.

Is your idle set to 1300-1500 rpms? Check you idle adjustment screw for appropriate adjustment.

Thanks for the responses Im gonna go check my tag lights now. The bike was laid down on the left side(thank god for frame sliders) and i dont know what my idle is screw is adjusted to. All i know is that it idled fine and never overheated literally the day before it was pushed over. Ill check for shorts and let you guys know what i find . Oh yea and yes i do have a stock tail light

so i finally got around to looking at my bike and i currently have the tail fairing off looking for shorts. Can someone post a pic of their wiring of their tail section. I think the guy who had it before me mucked it up because the license plate light isnt working. Ill post a pic of it in a few minutes. any ideas?
