F4 or zx6r or YZF
ALOHA
for those of you that don't know i had a 92 F2/F3. untill it got destroyed, but now i live on sunny Oahu hawaii so i want a bike again. i know this is a cbr forum but your opinions have always been good so here goes my options..
2000 cbr F4, layed over, needs peg and a shifter lever $1700
1999 ZX-6R needs new front rotors but ridable, $2000
1994 YZF 600, with sport kit, so it looks like a tail of a cbr F4i and a front fairing off a ZX-12, sorta, $1700
i liked my F2/F3 because of how easy it was to throw around, so i don't want a big bike. and the 600cc is perfect since i'm not "supposed" to be faster than 55 on this island...
whats your guys thoughts!!!!

RE: F4 or zx6r or YZF
I haven't ridden any of the other bikes, but if the CBR only needs what you described to make it rideable, and its 1700 then that is a good deal. If it's totally trashed (salvaged title), then 1700 is about average. I've done most of the work on the bikes I've owned (all three of them), and the CBR isn't all that bad to work on, and I'm sure it's only an improvement in the throw-around-ability category from your last bike.

RE: F4 or zx6r or YZF
This is a CBR forum so I think there is a pretty strong Honda bias. Of the bikes the only two of interest would be the ninja and the cbr - the yzf is 6 years older and the same price so unless you talked them down a bit it doesn't seem worth it.
In honda's favour - the F4 is a reliable, comfortable, and durable machine. If that particular bike is beaten to hell it probably would still be ok, but don't just buy it because it's a honda and you wanted a honda. Ride red is cool, but don't buy a bad bike to ride red. Also - if you have time to wait a cleaner F4 might show up. Check it out see what it is like.
The ninja - I've owned a 600 ninja before - it was a great bike. Check it out as well. At worst you can use it as a bargaining chip when looking at the F4.
