Default F4 sub-frame on F4I?

Alright, does anyone know if an f4 subframe will fit on a 2002 f4i? A buddy from school asked me if I wanted to trade. I have a corban seat so thats why he kinda wants to trade. I've been wanting to do this conversion for a while. But I don't know if my subframe will fit his f4i.

well think about it. if his subframe will bolt straight up to yours, then that basically means yours will bolt straight up to his. not sure about the rest of it like wireing hookups and stuff.

I was under the impression that the f4i sub-frame had to be modified a little to actually fit the f4 properly.

Hi MotoDan,

I just did the F4i split-seat subframe conversion to my 2000 F4. No more banana seat for me. Anyway since I just did this, everything is still very fresh in my mind. The subframes/battery trays/cowls swap out easily. The difference will come in how your wiring harness is routed & mounted vs your friend's bike. This can be a headache unless you already know what has to be done. The ECU's & Rectifiers & other electrical modules mount differently. Its not too difficult to reroute & make them work but it will take some time & effort. To help others, I did a tutorial w/ pictures in my photo gallery. If you choose to do the swap, be sure to check out my pics for some help.

Good luck.
