Default F4 Stereo System Open for Ideas

Lets bring it to the table... I purchased an f4, moded the subframe and purchased the DB windscreen. Now its time for more mods. Purchased a small 100w amp with speakers and wired to Bat. Ran to MP3 player that ran off its on personal bat. Rode the bike for a while and noticed the amp drained the bat. The bat isa Yuasa, and thinking about moving to a 12v computer amp. I used this on a suzuki kat sleeper (600 frame with 1127 engine), and it seemed to work well, no drainage. But I guess since I moved to this larger amp, if killed teh bat. The bike almost wanted to die several times do to the amount of power the amp drained. Any ideas on how to persue. The overall project was a success, but drainage was an big issue

Parasitic drainage could be a problem with this particular amp, it really depends upon the circuitry. Then depending upon the load/amperage of the amp itself (I know its 100w, but I dont know what class amp you have to know for sure or close to), the battery simply doesn't have the ability to sustain the draw. You may want to look into upgrading the stator, if there is a place available that will rewind it to increase the amperage.

Dunno if this gave you any leads as to the problem/situation, if it didnt then I probably misunderstood what the problem was.

Headphones and an mp3 player work good. Stereos on bikes are kindof stupid - they only suit the rednecks on ratty old harleys and big cruisers.

If you think someones idea is stupid keep it to urself. The guy comes in lookin for advice about his bike, not opinions on his idea. Y don't the people that would like to the ADULT thing help the man out and not hate on his ideas!

My advise is to put the sound system in your car. An Ipod and one ear bud is all you need. The stator on the bike is not made to handle that much of a draw and you will burn it up if you keep running that amp on there.

Haha...

Try rewinding your stator. That'd be a good start. Or buy a cruiser bike.
