Default F4 Parts

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum and motorcycles, i have a 1999 F4 and i was wondering where the best place to get parts from is. Specifically, i'm looking for rear turn signals and some new fairings. I don't want to spend a fortune or anything. Also, how do i fix my brake light? i had it fixed when i bought the bike, and it went out.

thanks for the help

at least provide some symptoms, or a list of possible causes you've already eliminated such as a burnt-out bulb, loose wiring, etc.

Besides your local Honda shop, there are many places to get parts; servicehonda, ronayers, bikebandit, etc.

There are several sources for replacement fairings; cbrfairings, delkevic, nicecycle, etc. There are reviews here on the forum of the dif companies offerings.

Most any motorcycle shop stocks aftermarket signals. CycleGear, if you have one near you, carries several options. Be sure to check out their website as well. Eb*y always has numerous options as well. I have HotBodies flushmounts up front & small LED stalk mounts in the back.

As regen' asked, we need more info on your tail light. Pics could help as well.

Well, like i said, i'm new to motorcycles so I don't really know much, besides that it doesn't work. If i'm looking at my taillight, the bulb on the left on the inside is the brake light correct?

First things first... There are links to the factory Honda service manual here on the forum. Find one of those links & download the manual. There are wiring diagrams, as well as sections on all the dif components of the bike. Being new to the F4, & motorcycles, take the time to skim over the entire manual to familiarize yourself w/ your bike. There are many helpful tips to routine maintenance & repair. There are also troubleshooting procedures to help diagnose problems that may arise. The manual will give you a more general understanding of the bike & its operation.

Ok, as for the tail light in the F4... Apparently, they didn't "fix" it when you got it or it would be working. I would take it back & have them re-fix it...especially if you paid for them to do it. ;-)

Nevertheless... You need to determine if the wiring is still factory connected or if its been tampered w/ in some manner.

The F4 tail light has two bulbs. *Both* bulbs should light up when the brake is applied. Do they? If not, a bulb may be damaged & need replacing...or if both bulbs are out, again it could be bad bulbs or bad connection at the plug, or in the wiring at some point, etc.

If you have one bulb lighting up, you can remove it from its current position in the tail light & move it over to the dead bulb's plug to test the wiring. If it works in that plug, then you need a new bulb for that side.

That should get you started...
