Default dont know how to explain it

hi everyone. im kinda new here, but i thought you might be able to help me with a weird problem. ive had the bike since june. its a 2000 f4, all stock. usually it runs perfect. but their has been 3 different times now. its running fine, then all of a sudden it starts to bog down on me. i can feather the throttle, but doesnt really help. it will keep bogging down until it dies. then i have to crank it for a long time. its not a continuous crank because i dont want to burn up the starter or solenoid. but it adds up to about three minutes worth. then all of a sudden it fires up and runs perfect again. it did this one time while i was riding it and the other two after it had sat for a couple of days, upon start up. i have put about 4000 miles on the bike since ive had it. it currently has about 25000 miles on it. i have not pulled the spark plugs yet, but i will before i start riding again in spring. does this sound like coil(s)? plugs? carbs? or something else? sorry for the long post, im just trying to give all the details i can

Sounds like a fuel pump intermittently cutting out.

Fuel pump or bad connection at somewhere in the ignition system. Definitely electrical.

Good luck. My Fuel pump went out around the same mileage with similar symptoms. Also, open the gas cap if it happens again to be sure its not an air lock.

im definitely going to try the fuel pump. ive already priced them and they are not too expensive. if all else fails that means i have a spare if i ever need it. i tried the gas cap last time it happened, i could not hear any air escaping. thank you for the input

If it`s a vacuum in the tank you should hear a very clear and audible hiss when you pop the cap, and the intermittency of the issue points to an electrical fault. Let us know what came of it when you catch the culprit.

Fuel pump points. Its an ez fix and cost less then the pump($30 off eBay). They get worn down and stick when hot.
