does anyone know of a valve spring compressor that works w/o having to take off head?
 
i just put on a new head gasket only to discover that a set of valve keeper came out. I need to install them and would greatly like to avoid pulling the head again. s

Supposedly, there is an air attachment that screws into the spark plug threads. You bring the cylinder you're working on to TDC, you add air to pressurize the cylinder (thus pushing up on the valve), and then you can use that tool CJ pointed out (or a light hammer to get the retainers loose, then guts and determination to get them back in).


Kinda scares me though.... putting a lot of pressure on your rings... I don't know if that's what I'd want to do.
