Default Color Differences

Are the color schemes for the OEM style yellow and black the same from F4 to F4i. If I get the bike I'm looking at, I will be getting new fairings. I thought about getting a Repsol kit, but realized that the kit doesn't include a tank cover. So my question is, if I were to go with the yellow/ black set, would the yellow tank match the new yellow fairings of a F4i (assuming the tank hasn't been previously painted)?

No...
1999-2000 = Sunrise Yellow (YR160)

See Motorcycle Paint - ColorRite for differences in colors/codes.

I feel like everytime I have a question I should just automatically PM GOTCBR. lol. Thanks man. BTW, would they look close enough to pass, or would the tank have to be painted anyway.

LOL. Yeah, I try to help as much as possible. :-)

Yeah, there are pics on the forum of aftermarket Repsol fairings w/ the sunrise yellow tank. Those pics are just buried deep, so I can't point to one at the moment. There was one sunrise yellow tank that had large solid black stomp grip pads on ea side of the tank, along w/a large black tank pad, that looked really good w/ the Repsol fairings.

Really, if you're good w/ the way it looks, that's all that really matters. ;-)
After I did the split-seat conversion, my tail is oem Honda silver w/ the rest of the bike w/ the stock sunrise yellow fairings. I've just left it that way all this time b/c it has suited me just fine. Maybe I'll change it one of these days.

Wanted to offer another option...

You can have your tank wrapped. That would be a pretty easy option to getting the exact color you want & it wouldn't be permanent.

I have already perused the F4 pic thread, and have seen two of them. My thought was if the new yellow fairings matched the tank, then I would stick with yellow. If the tank won't match anyway, then I'm going with the repsol fairings.

Ahhhhh, didn't think about that. Where might one get a tank wrapped? I hope I get a cbr now, bc I already like the forum. If all goes well, I'll be a cbr owner tomorrow.

Most major cities have shops that do wraps on cars, motorcycles, etc. Give you local sign shops & auto dealerships a call, & they'll let you know.

Good luck for a good day tomorrow then! :-)

you should wrap the tank in Carbon Fiber with the repsol fairings, than get new tank wing decals and put those one. It would look great!

In my opinion (which is usually worth just a bit _less_ than you paid for it here...), the Sunrise Yellow is a very orangey-yellow, like a sunrise, whereas the later yellow is far more lemony. I don't think they look very similar, but that's pretty subjective/personal. The tank wrap idea is solid.
