Here i am again...I was wondering if anyone has changed their clutch and brake levers? I'm sure its a simple thing to do but does anyone have a wrap up on it or is it too easy to even need a write up for?

 

I did it on my last bike (Ninja250) and it was pretty straightforward.. just be careful not to break the stop light switch or clutch safety switch.. and remember you will have to adjust your clutch at the lever again... check the "HowTo" forum.

 

yup its as simple as buying the levers you want for your model n changing them out

So i went to swap out the levers today and i started with the brake lever and the bolt that holds it on wont come off...Is there anything that would help me get this bolt off because right now im just chewing it up.

 

Id have to run outside and look.. are the levers held on by a nut and bolt? a bolt and something else is threaded?

 

It looks like just a nut and bolt but i think the problem is the nut is stripped so i gotta figure out a way to get it off and just order a new one...

 

Alright hopefully my last question. Is there something i can adjust if the brake lever isn't snapping back out like the old brake lever did? When i pull in the brake it just kind of slowly goes back out when i let go...

 

you may have ovrtightened the pivot bolt that the lever hangs on-
i dont know if this applies to your model but on any model:
look for the cable routing and make sure its not crimped or going around any odd angles-
lubricate-
tell how it goes and ill keep thinking.
nothing changed cablewise right?just lever-blade?not a fancy lever w. a return-assist spring that could get wonk?

-use a full box wrench or socket 6 point better than 12 - not an open ended wrench. (i wont mention pliers) on tough bolt-nut assemblies. this should be practice in general unless its a reach-angle problem.
STICKY LEVER-

make sure the cast barrel is properly seated in the lever.
