Charging system breaks down when hot, so....
Hi all...so after alot of head scratching and frustration, plus a lot of excellent information on here (especially from @Benzo_Mike on another area of the forum) i now realise that there is an inherent flaw in these machines. The stator is fairly weak, the bulbs are old technology and the fan draws alot of current. All this with the Fischer Price rectifier/regulator (plus aging radiator and cooling system components) means that this type of failiure is now common. basically too much load to cope with.
I now need to take action. I want to start with LED bulbs all round. Ive done the headlight. But need to do the rest. I want bulbs rather than new indicator stalks etc. Plus plug and play bulbs for the brake and tail lights Does anyone know where I can get a kit for these bulbs? I want THE BEST regulator upgrade I can buy for THIS problem that won't (literally) go up in smoke like the last two. And also is there anything fan upgrades/ovethauls out there which will lighten the load and help with drawing less current?
I would really appreciate any help/advice on this as ive owned the bike from new when i bought it back in '99 and it would be so sad to let it go for spares/repair.
Thanks alot
P.

bulbs are bulbs - just take a look at the one you have and buy the LED replacement part. You'll need a LED flasher relay though to go along with them, something like https://uk.customled.com/products/el...-flasher-relay
