According to my Haynes manual the chain for your year and model CBR 600 is:

F-X and F-Y (1999 and 2000) models:
Type: DID 525HV or RK 525ROZ1
Links: 110 links

The later F-1/FS-1 models (2001 on) chains are:
Type: DID 525H or RK GB525ROZ1
Links: 108 links

Front engine socket size: 16 teeth
Rear wheel socket size: European F-X and F-Y models: 44 teeth
US 1999-2000 models size: 45 teeth.

Hope this helps!

Highwaypatrol is spot on but If i could make a recommendation go with the RK XW 525 X-Ring chain. I had this on my old 98 f3 that had a 520 conversion and it felt great. You can find them much cheaper on ebay, theyre one of the best chains you can buy, and the x-ring performs much better than the standard o-ring you that came on your bike

Yep, I always get the RK chains now. Good chains.
Moved to F4 section....

Yep,

OEM 16/45 steel sprockets.
OEM chains are D.I.D or RK 525 - both great chains. While the manual indicates 110 links, 108 is acceptable. (I personally use D.I.D gold on all my bikes.)
