Default CBR6 F4 - Rattly noise, misfiring?

Hi guys,

Ive recently purchased a CBR6 F4 about 2 months ago and ive started to notice some noises and things that are making me worried.

The bike is pretty much standard apart from the can and some small indicators, its done 45k miles and I have a receipt from previous owner that says
at 40k it had (this was in 2014) ;
lifter assem, tension
chain, cam
gasket tensioner
shim exchange
labour costs.
Im not very mechanically minded but that tells me that the timing chain and shims where done recently( the bike has only covered 5k since this). What could be the cause of this rattle? I hear it at around 2.5-3krpm all the way up to around 7k when I the sound of the engine masks the rattling sound.
I get this sound hot or cold. Ive recently had hesitation/misfiring issues while driving down the motorway. I'll be travelling at 70 using minimal throttle, I open up even slightly and its like it misfires or hesitates, its not constant. Its hard for me to explain.

I have quite alot of paperwork for the bike and it seemed in pretty decent nick when I bought it, but now im worried if I ride it, its gonna break down and I dont currently have breakdown cover.
Lastly, if I WOT in first, second or third when I get to around 10k rpm my clutch slips and the bike redlines but I guess this is just wear and tear and a clutch replacement will sort that.

Please give me any advice you can, feel free to ask anything.

Thanks,

Scott.

Looks like you'll need new clutch plates Scott, maybe some attention to the Carbs (check main jet sizes) and clean, also you have DAI on your bike so check all airways clear ,along with sub air filters and air hoses

Looks like they only did the chain tensioner with the valve adjustment. Noise could be a clutch basket or something else with the clutch going out. Hard to say without hearing it.

What year is your bike? CBR6 a 2006 or a typo?

Thanks for all the replies. The bike is a 2000 model.

I dont think its clutch noise, I can hear it coming from top of the engine when riding, the faster I ride the louder the sound is.
I recorded the sound on my phone, I placed my phone near the head of the engine, R/H/S. Listen carefully you can hear the rattling/ticking.
Im expecting a little bit of noise but this ticking/ratting is loud enough to be heard whatever speed im going.

Ive just come back from a ride and ive noticed that the hesitation im getting happens alot if I come of the throttle, especially downhill and i go back on it,
it hesitates for what feels like a few secs. The best I can describe is, when you slightly leave your choke on and its warmed up and you open up, you get
that hesitation and then a little power. Thats how my bike is feeling when the choke is completely off.

What do I need to replace clutch wise? Just the plates? do I just buy a complete new clutch?

Again, thanks everyone.

When they fitted a new CCT , was it a manual or automatic type?

Yeah you're right its a auto part. I know these are prone to fail which is why people went for the manual version but surely not after 5k miles?

No dont think so ,and I prefer the Auto to the manual , Owners tend to over tighten them, think what you need to do first is get the clutch sorted and go from there, is it a job you could try yourself?
where in UK are you
