Default Cbr keeps losing all power and stalls at random times

So my bike will run just fine but will randomly start sputtering and losses all power and dies. After a few seconds it will start back up and ride fine again. I had my fuel pump and fuel pump relay replaced as well as my carbs rebuilt. But after two days of having it back it did the exact same thing again. Anyone with any thoughts are welcome. I’m desperate

Sounds like a connection issue. Check all of your connectors for burns or loose wires.

Default Update on loss of power issue

I’m really about to lose my mind with this bike. I dropped it off at a shop literally four months ago for this exact same problem. 1000 dollars and four months later Lo and behold problem untouched not to mention the damage done to my bike while there. So actually I paid them 1000 to make my bike worse than it was. Anyways after riding today for a little while the bike is now grounded once again due to the fact that it took me two hours to travel 3 miles. I can tell it’s running lean as hell bc I can smell the gas. But it’s not leaking at all or smoking at all either. Here’s a run down of what happens. So I start the bike for the first time today and it fired right up but died 3 times before it finally stayed running. But even then it idles very low to the point of me thinking it could die at any second. Ok so I take off, about a mile later it starts sounding rough/ starts stuttering. At that point I knew that if I grabs the clutch it’s gonna stall.so I grab the clutch and it stalled I switched from 4th to 3rd then 3rd to 2nd with it starting back up when I’d let the clutch go then die again and start again with each clutch pop. Soo when I’d stop at a light or stop sign I’d jus throttle it up to about 2500rpms to keep it running. So I take off again and about a half a mile later it starts sounding like **** again but this time it stutters very badly then I’d twist the throttle with 0 response. Grab the clutch and instant stall. I pull over turn the key off then back on and cranked on it until the battery died. But my jump box on it and it fired right up.. wash rinse repeat!! Please if anyone has experienced this type of problem tell me. I’m at a loss.

So is it safe the say that the place that took you money also cleaned your carburetors? Everything you're describing sounds like fuel mixture. If it were electrical, the cutting out would be like one of your friends reaching over and hitting the engine stop switch. That doesn't sound like what you're describing.

Default Update

They supposedly rebuilt the carbs, replaced a fuel hose, a bunch of gaskets, installed a block off plate, new fuel pump, new fuel cut off relay, new fuel filter, new starter, new battery, new choke cable, some rubber plugs, new joint set, new insulator and insulator band b. One would think with all these new fuel related items being replaced I wouldent be having any fuel related issues. But like I said it’s worse now than before I took it to them. Never smelled gas before. Not to mention they crushed the top of my gas tank. And never even mentioned anything about it as if at no point ever would I happen to simply look down and see my gas tank caved in

Your descriptions are not instilling me with a lot of confidence. I think you've still got issues with your carburetors.

+1 on what IDoDirt said. Also, in your description you didn't mentioned that they sync'd the carbs. Even if everything else they did was spot on perfect, (I highly doubt it was) the bike will not run properly if the carbs aren't sync'd after they have been split apart. From your parts list mentioned, they had to be split apart to install some of them. Also, if you really want to insure your carbs are pulling the proper vacuum, checking your valve clearances is the 1st step. If they are out of whack, nothing will be right.

Default Update

Ok so the bike is back in the shop now. Carbs are synced and there is no valve noise or anything else wrong to make me think it’s a valve problem. Also all cylinders have good compression. I’m leaning towards maybe I have some corrosion on some wires somewhere maybe even some ****ty connections. But as news develops I will update

Default Ready to give up

I’m really about to lose my mind with this bike. I’m now stuck between a rock and hard place now. Iv invested way too much money to try to sell it but keeping it only to throw money at it that doesn’t fix the problem isn’t the answer either. Here’s a recap So back in December I took the bike to a shop because in the weeks leading up to the actual day of me taking it in the bike would run fine but would randomly studder real bad. Lose all throttle response and then stall. I would have to wait a min or so before it would start back up but eventually it stopped firing back up all together. So since then. Iv
1) had the carbs rebuilt and synced
2) replaced the fuel pump
3) replaced fuel filter
4) new fuel hose
5) installed a block off plate
6) new gaskets
7) new battery
8) new starter
9) new regulator rectifier
10) new stator
Got the bike back and within an hour it does the same thing again. So the 1500 I spent was all bull**** it seems. But for a couple days it would run fine until it warmed up. Then it would lose all throttle response then stall just as before. But yesterday it has now gone back to not wanting to start at all again. I was briefly able to get it to run while choked but any throttle would cause it to die
I’m replacing a relay to the fuel pump tomorrow but I have zero hope that it will fix anything. Please if anyone can help me. I would be forever grateful This bike is my only transportation right now bc my ex wife got my car and everything else too for that
mater. I’d really like to not lose my job over this damn thing too. Soo please anyone. HELP ME!!

Default Sounds like my problem

Hi,
very sorry to hear of your woes with your bike, i am suffering from very similar sounding symptoms with my bike. I hope that somebody on this forum will be able to shed some light on this. I shall be watching this thread closely to see. If i can figure out what is going on i'll be sure to share what i find, here's hoping to get to the bottom of what's happening.
