Default CBR F4 electrical problem, NO electricity at all!!!

K so I've had my f4 for a couple years now and mechanically its super sound but my electrical always seems to be f**ked. Recently i was going for a ride and the bike started up perfectly and i let it warm up for about 7 mins at 3000 rpm. I drove it about 400 metres to a gas station, filled up etc...when i started the bike again it started smoothly but as soon i dropped it into first the bike shut off. like completely off, kickstand was up, there was no reason for it to shut off. It seemed like a blown fuse at first but i checked every fuse in the fuse box and the main 30a fuse and everything was good.

The bike has literally no power whatsoever. I turn the key and no gauges turn on, no lights turn on, its almost like i dont have a battery in it. I took the battery out and charged it but still no power at all.

A guy drove by with a f4i stunt bike in the back of his truck and told me that it could be a plug that's underneath the gas tank that has become disconnected. What plug is he talking about?1

Maybe I have a busted battery?

Obviously I have no idea and i've tried everything I could possibly think of so PLEASE if anyone knows what the f**k is wrong with my bike let me know.

Ok there is a couple plugs underneath the gas tank that sends a signal to ur gas needle and says how much gas u have check that, and don't worry about the hoses since ones an overflow, and one is for air

Hi. Don't know if this will help, but I had the same problem on my 1980 BMW R100RT. Whislt travelling on the M5 from Plymouth, my bike cut out just as I indicated to move out into the outside lane! I managed to get onto the hard shoulder. Anyway not to bore you too long, the nice RAC man found a starter relay under the petrol tank that had corrosion on the pins. He gave them a scrape with a penknife and hey presto! all was good! The relay was stopping the power from the battery to the ignition switch from getting through. I couldn't get anything at all on the clocks or anywhere, so it might be a similar problem to yours. I have a 2002 CBR 600 F1 with fuel injection and I love it. Hope you sort it out soon!

That actually sounds like a good option..

If you need it, here are the wiring diagrams:

I appreciate the advice. I don't have the tools to do much cuz i'm at university right now but i'll be sure to look out for that when i get back to a garage in a week or so.

check your battery terminals, relays, etc for corrosion.

I live on the west coast and it's been a particularly rainy winter, which really sucks cuz i don't have a garage to park my bike in so its been exposed for like 7 months of straight rain. I have it under a supposedly "waterproof" motorcycle cover. Would all the exposure to the moisture assist in the corrosion of terminals, relays, etc?? I feel as if that would make sense and be the most obvious problem...

Hmm, maybe... It is one of those 'breathable' covers? You can also get these dehumidifier bags to hang underneath the cover. It's just a bag with some kind of moisture absorbing filling.
