Default Brake pad recommendations

The Internet wants £40-50 for a pair of front EBC's. Can anybody recommend them or any other brands?

I'd love to swap the disks at the same time but their £135 each!

I like the OEM ones for street. They work great for all weather and last long enough.

I have always used the EBC HH pads on my bikes. They have never let me down and seem to be very disc friendly.

They have enough capability to haul my Honda Blackbird from various speeds - even with a pillion.

Yes - £40 to £50 can seem expensive at the time, but when it comes to brakes I would not be trying to same money.

Thanks guys I think i'll cough up for EBC's because like you say don't skimp on brakes! Plus they will prob last as long as I will keep this bike, onward and upwards!

You've probably already pulled the trigger, but I'm not a huge fan of the EBCs. EBCs for sportbikes have a very strong initial bite but tend to fade quickly if used heavily. And I don't mean they wear out, but rather that they don't seem to deal with heat very well and their braking power fades after some hard riding. I prefer a brake pad that is consistent in ability and a bit more progressive in bite. I've found OEM and Vesrah pads meet my requirements pretty well. Braking and DP are two brands that have excellent reputations.

I understand that this thread hasn't been commented on in a while but hopefully somebody will give me a reply. Went and bought the vesrah pads with part number: STSI-VE217872-72. And after buying it I was wondering, the add on ebay said '1999-2000 f4 supersport' can somebody confirm if all models of 1999-2000 f4 are the same. Details of my bike are : CBR600f F4 1999 (FX) and I am in Britain, the bike is not an import. Any other details needed just ask

Hey mate the FX is exactly the same as the FY. Even after 2000 the F4i used exactly the same brake setup.
