My bike runs great when its being ridden however as soon as I start putting through town, or go after a stop, it sputters like it wants to die til i pull the clutch in an ride it until im around 4k. If I ride the bike very hard or even just cruise, it runs perfect. Could this be a jetting issue, bad clutch or stator issue?? Ive dealt with this problem ever since i got the bike. The carbs were cleaned at the shop right before i bought it(receipts as proof). WHat should I do??

What jetting should be in the bike with only a slip on Jardine exhaust??

 

you need a jet kit, otherwise the pipe is just for looks, maybe a small gain, especially in the california bikes, my bike was running on 128 jets in all 4 carbs, now I run 140 on the outer carbs and 142 on the inner carbs.

all bikes not from california run the two different sizes from the factory, but they are alot smaller, but still bigger than the california's puny 128's

jetting my bike made a huge difference, I have a k&n filter and a giannelli slip on, and barley noticed a power gain, after jetting it feals more like a gsxr 750, it simply has more *****

It's probably wrong jetting, but it could also be faulty/failing needle valves in the carbs not blocking the fuel from the pump when deceling causing it to flood when putting around.

 

Did you figure out the problem? My bike is doing this aswell.Also when i blip the throtle on downshifts it boggs down,i have to blip it twice.
