RE: aftermarket bar ends

Here's an exploded view I found, hope it helps. Appears that it's kinda wedged in there. Might be easier to get out if you take the bar off.

On the 1000RR there's a retainer ring that holds it in place. You gotta use a punch or screwdriver to push it down through a hole in the handle bar. The above picture shows 2 small holes on the left bar and 1 on the right. Maybe the F4 is similar.

There are aftermarket handlebar sliders made specifically for the HONDA's..but the best bar weights are the FACTORY ones, they serve the purpose ( which is to weight the bar and keep vibration down) the best

RE: aftermarket bar ends

I purchased a set of throttlemeister bar ends pricey but nice...they serve two purposes. First they minimize vibration and second the serve as a throttle lock. But to answer your question...the bar ends i bought came with a "tool" to pull it out, basically stays at the opening of the bar and utilizes the stock bar end bolt to pull out the insert by tightening the bolt and drawing the inside piece towards the end of the bar. It is only held in by friction but it is wedged in there really well.
