Default 99 F4 gauge problems

The odometer on my cbr likes to read differently sometimes. When I turn the key on sometimes it reads 650142 when my actual mileage is only 26050. When it does read 650142 the speedometer doesn't work and I can't get the bike to go very fast. It's like the engine is flooding out and not enough spark. So I turn the key off and on and off and on until I get to my normal mileage and then I have no problem. In addition to this the temperature gauge either doesn't work at all or goes all the way to hot. The fuel light also comes on when the odometer is acting funny. I have checked all fuses and cleaned the connector to the gauge cluster but it still acts funny. Obviously this is electrical but I have no idea where to begin. Any ideas?

I have a cluster that reads 24xxx I can get the exact mileage I can sell you cheap if you like.

also to start trouble shooting that problem is a pain in the ***.

Have you done any mods before this started happening? have you replaced anything? like the rectifier etc?? need more details.

or just one day it just started doing that to you. is it always reading 650142? or does the read different each time?

I replaced the voltage regulator about a year ago. It doesn't do it everytime I start the bike . But if I drive it and it's fine and turn it off and turn it back on shortly it does it. No other mods on it aside from exhaust and cosmetic. It does seem to read the same wrong mileage every time it acts up.

next time that happens. unplug the cluster and plug it back in and see if it still reads the same number. you can do this while th3e bike is running. if it resets its the connector or cluster if it doesn't its can be apart of another problem or the cluster so buy mine! lol

I have tried that before and it doesn't fix the issue. I just don't get how it can affect my engine like that.
