99 CBR Starts but in Neutral it revs HIGH the normal automatically
Hi everyone,
My 99 Honda CBR 600F4 starts but it revs up to around 5k rpms and then drops down for a second then revs back high. It keeps doing that until i turn it off if it doesn't die on its own first. I need some help guys. Im a new riders of about 6 months and its getting spring time. Want to ride, need to ride, love to ride! Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

I'd check out the throttle cables. Ensure smooth operation, as it's common for them to get a bit rusty over the years, especially if the bike's been stored outdoors. Remove the tank and check to make sure that they aren't kinked, and set the free play and lower adjuster while you're at it. Detailed instructions should be in the manual
You should probably make sure the idle is set properly too

Updated Post: Thank you Tentacleslap for your insight. My pull cable on my throttle was broken and my choke cable was on its way out. I just changed all the cables,( Choke, Both Throttle, and Clutch) and changed out all the vacuum hoses. I think it was because the new fuel pump wasn't getting any back pressure with the bad vacuum hoses. I have now changed all the vacuum lines, Fuel lines, Fuel pump and filter, All operation cables, tail light, oil, coolant, battery and rectifier/regulator. And now my CBR is running like a champ. I'm gonna clean it up before I buy new plastics and then I will post some pick... Tentacleslap, I hope the snow disappears so you can get a ride or two in. Thanks again.
