2nd gear wheelie
 

i haven't tried too extensively but can the f4 clutch up a wheelie in 2nd gear? when i tried popping it it seemed like it doesn't have it in her to pull it up. maybe i was going too slow. If so what is your formula for 2nd gear wheelie on a 600 (starting speed, what rpm to slip the clutch, etc.)

im not an expert at whellie's, but the f4i is a monster when it comes to them, usually starting out with one foot already braced on the passenger peg and dumping the clutch at 4k's works out pretty well, ive only accidentaly jumped up in 2nd because of over revving as i dumped in 2nd

2nd gear on an f4 is simple. Actually it was easier on the f4 than the f4i and I looped my f4 stagger stancing 3rd gear. I never stagger stance as it is uncomfortable to me and I lose balance. I run 2nd up to around 7k rpm, stand up give it a little bounce, slight chop of throttle and then a slight tug while accelerating. It will stand right up just about balance point. Then you can play with rolling in and out of balance point and cover that rear brake. I find having both feet on the front pegs also helps keep me from getting to far back to fast. The pic in my avatar was May this year on my f4i, couple weeks before a JackA$$ with no insurance ran me over.

there's actually alot of good video's on youtube showing wheelies all the way through 6 gears, some doing unbelieavable speed's, like 140 on 1 wheel, thats already fast on 2, thats stunters for you

That is squids for you, also known as organ donors. You have absolutely no control at those speeds and when you go down your more likely to leave this world. Stick to learning control and keep it slow and controlled. Then if you mess up you will likely walk away.

thanks for the info. i have experimented with the tips but i don't feel comfortable with how much i would have to pull up popping it in 2nd gear so i'm just gonna leave it alone. maybe it's time for a 954!

I can clutch it up in 3rd, on stock gearing. So yes. It's possible.

No its not time for a 954. I can wheelie all day on my f4i and still havent gotten the comfort down on the r1. Power is helpful but does not make up for lack of ability. If you are serious about learning how to ride wheelies, keep practicing with what you have. There are too many of us doing it so that should show you, you dont need a diff bike. Also accidents happen, I looped my old f4 twice before I had it down pat. If your not willing to accept the consequences that could happen, my advice would be to keep it on two.
