Default 04 F4I rear subframe fit a 99 F4Y?

Hi guys,

as some of you might know i am also trying to gather parts for a split seat conversion, i have found a F4I subframe from a 04 model, does anyone know if this will work with my 99 Carb'd F4?

i only ask as i have seen other threads stating only 01-03 models will fit?

any one shed any light?

04-06 is the same banana style seat that you have.. you need 01-03 for the split seat...

I feel like the only one that likes teh 'nana seat'.. lol

I used to feel more comfortable riding wheelies on the banana seat as I was used to my f4. I grew to prefer the split seat of my f4i though.

01-03 subframes are desireable, which makes them pricy, you can almost get all the other f4 f4i year subframes for free, $200 and up is what the 01-03 goes for, hella gay

01-03 is split-seat subframe.

Yes, they are getting harder to come by it seems. *bay is no longer the best option for the subframes. You'll prob have better luck calling motocycle salvage yards. Last resort is buying a new subframe from Honda. Yes, they still have them but they'll cost big time.

When you get to the point that you have all your parts & are ready to do the conversion, feel free to contact me for help.

Good luck.

cheers gotcbr! i appreciate the offer.

I have so far contacted over 70 breakers yards in UK & IoM with only a few replies thus far. spent more hours on *bay to no avail!

ps your tutorial is quality! already used it to help find the CORRECT parts!

so thanks again, will hopefully do something similiar when i eventually get round to doing the conversion.

the search continues.......
