Default wiring toggle switch for fan. need help

i want to put a toggle switch that controls my fan. it seems very simple but i cant figure it out. ha. there is two wires going to the fan. should i splice into the wire going from the thermostatic switch to the fan, or the other one.(which seems to just be a wire. ha idk what its for. not a ground though pretty sure) any advice or anything really would help! thanks!

Why would you want a toggle on the fan? Get a volt meter and see which wire is giving the fan power and put it on that wire. Still not understanding why you would want to put a toggle on the fan tho.

first of all the fan only comes on when the thermo unit tells it to, your engine has to get so hot before your fan even comes on, second you need to run a constant 12v to the fan and put your toggle on that wire if this is really what you want to do.

the reason why is because it overheats in traffic. if i had a manual toggle switch then i could cut it on at a lower temp to prevent it from getting so hot. does it not make sense?

I did this before because my f3 would go crazy hott. It doesnt mess up the bike or anything. you just cant have the fan running while the bike is not running so the motor must be on or else you will eat your battery in like 2 min. I remember that the fan is turned on by a negative pusle I can put up a picture tommorow of how i did it its just two wires no relays are needed

The thermostat switch, when it is activated by high temps, just grounds the circuit to the fan, turning it on.

Pull the plug off the thermostat switch. Run a wire from the plug to a ground, and put a switch somewhere on the wire.
