White dials

Hi all!when changing my f3 gauge faces to white I noticed a thin strand of metal rapped around the needle,is this to stop needle spinning out or something more important?thanx

No idea tbh. Have you tried looking up youtube 'how to' videos in case they talk about this part, or 'to be careful not to..' etc ?
