Default Where is the thermostat valve on my F3?

I need to unhook the hose from the thermostat valve from my carb heater, so any help would be appreciated.

is it part number five? also, that doesn't show position incredibly well, the guy at the shop said it's next to the starter, where is the starter?

It's the Brass looking thing with rubber hoses all the way down to the right center of the photo. The starter is the it's immediate left. Disregard the red circled parts, that was for another reason. The carburetors are out in this photo.

In case anyone is wondering what the red circles are. I leave permanently attached hoses on the sync ports so I can get to them without having to take the bike very far apart. I can sync the carbs at the drop of a hat.

How did you get the carbs off without taking the carb heater tube off? Nevermind, looks like it's off. Thanks a bunch man.

Yes, it's disconnected. It's the hose that's at the far left of the photo laying up against the frame. It also has the heavy duty hose clamp on it.

Curious, are you disconnecting this hose permanently, or for some service reason ?

they want me to take it out to remove the carbs, but since yours is out, I'm no seeing how's it's necessary, and it's hard to get to, so I'll see if it comes off without doing that since the coolant is drained anyways. Also, that's genius about keeping hoses attached to synch the carbs, do you have them hooked up to all 4 spots? I only see three.

Yea, if you look closely, you can see the zip tie and rubber hose attached to the intake port at the far left. The other end of the hose fell down and you can't see it. Without the carbs installed the hoses just flop around. Once the carbs are in, they stay in place pretty well. I'm able to connect to them with no problem.

It's a standard mod I do on all my bikes. I haven't done my Red F3 yet since I haven't pulled the carbs to clean them yet. With 35K on the clock, I'm sure I'll be cleaning them soon. Probably do it all, clean carbs, sync, valve clearances etc etc...

When you do the valves on the F3, do another one of your super duty photo album documentation pls

Thinking of doing mine this season but still haven't figured out a man with a normal sized hand can do it without breaking joints

I sort of did one, but not up to the level of my fuel pump one. Yes, I will do another from start to finish with nice clear photos and all. You can look at the previous posting that I did, but it's not a true how to. You'll have to progress a few screens to start seeing photo's.
