I usually gas up about every 150 miles when I go out riding.
However, I keep a 6 gallon can of gas at the house and when I ride the bike back and forth from work (110 miles round trip), I fill up with the can before I leave for work everytime. Usually only 2-2.5 gallons each time.

The '95 - '98 CBR600 F3's have a 4.5 gallon tank including a .8 gallon reserve. Fill the tank, reset the trip odometer and turn the fuel petcock to on. Ride it until it starts to sputtter and lose power. Turn the petcock to reserve and then go fill it up. Calculate the distance traveled divided by the number of gallons you put in to give you your miles per gallon. Just know that you've got about .8 x your mpg to travel once you hit your reserve before you run out. Also realize that your mpg can vary widely depending on how far you twist that throttle, if you know what I mean

i get about 130 miles per tank including reserve (i keep the revs high and do a lot of twisty roads) but my rule of thumb is that whenever i get to 100-110 on the trip i fuel her up. at least i always know i've got plenty to spare. also means i don't need to flick to reserve that often.
just remember to reset the trip each time you fuel up and always make sure you fuel the tank up to full.

Fill the tank.
Reset the trip meter.
Drive it until you have to switch to reserve.
Note the mileage on the trip.
This is how many miles you'll get per tank. I usually refill at 120miles (reserve or not). When you switch to reserve you get the very botton of the fuel tank so try to avoid it.
