Default What are you guys using for gear storage?

What are you guys doing for storage on your way to work or just cruising? I have been riding with a backpack the last couple seasons, but its getting old and uncomfortable. I am thinking of something removable on the passenger seat as i do ride 2 up a lot. Maybe just put my backpack on there with one of those cargo nets? I would like to keep my rain gear with me too just in case.

I got so tired of cramming my backpack into the cargo net I just put it on my back like it was meant to be. Trick is finding a comfortable backpack. Jansport is prolly the best I've had. They last forever and are comfy even on long trips.

I'm rolling with a givi tail-trunk. It's removable, leaving just a plate.
It locks and my wife thanked me for the 2-up time. She feels a lot more secure with it as a back-rest. Here's a pic w/o the trunk (for the sporting times)...

here's what the trunk looks like...

I have a tank bag for my 1000f and am thinking about getting one for my f3. So far I've been using a backpack for comuting. I've used a messanger bag in the past; but they tend to move around. Easy to get on and off; but not so great when it shifts while you are cornering. Problem with tank bag is that it is a pain when refueling. In my next life, I will simply have someone who can follow me wherever I go in my car. After all, I mostly use four wheeled conveyances as motorcycle support vehicles anyway. lol

i use a back pack but have got a tank bag wen i need to take lots of stuff to work,

the thing i find with tank bags is they get in the way, if they are full they can stop you tucking in to corners or even seeing your dials,

im thinking of getting a box like madhattr but wont one i can easily take off and on ( looks bad on a sports bike with a plate on the back)

ps
mad were did you get the tank pads i wont to get me some of the side ones

Added a bit of extra storage last week - price of gas - means this is fast becoming
my everyday commuter - so I need space for rain gear, work gear and other work stuff

The frame detaches from the passenger pegs and the bags Velcro together to form a carry handle.

Nelson Riggs has a few good storage bags avail. Tank bags, "saddle bags", rear seat bags... they got a ton of options. i have a tank bag from them, pretty old now, and still looks new & works well!

Hmm. I like the rear seat part. I never realized how many options there are out there. I figured most of the bags were for cruiser or Harley bikes. If I could keep my rain gear with me for my commute that'd be the best thing. I'll have to go to some websites and look
