It came with race fairings and I'm wondering what the original color scheme was. It is a 97 F3. Inside of the gas lid it has yellow paint. The bike is kind of a red or orange now. Quite obvious that it has been repainted.

The code on the subframe is P9 and P9-Q.

Is there nowhere on this forum board that lists color codes?

The inside of my gas lid has a yellow paint too and I know my tank is stock, I think its just some kind of common primer they use for the liner or something. Anyone with more info wanna chime in?

 

Bit of detective work - the only P9 I could find was 'Uranus Purple' for a VFR, but that combined with your yellow inside the filler and the year of your bike makes me wonder if it's one of these...

I doubt its a common yellow primer.....could be wrong though......as for my bike It was origially red and when I stripped it down to bare metal it was sealed with a white sealer and then painted red and cleared....just my 2 cents though. I would say its that yellow and purple origially.

 

There's the codes off the frame...not that you all didn't believe me - hahaha

Anyway, I yanked off the front wheel which has a big lip in it and I removed the wheel weight that was on there. Guess what color was under the wheel weight...yellow. After I pulled the tire off the rim - yep, yellow again on the rim part that is inside of the tire.

So, MickeyWiz, I think you are right and I'll bet the bike you have in the picture originally had yellow wheels.

Ron Ayers on-line info also has 'Uranus Violet' for P-9 on CBRs, so I guess you're stuck with it! And a good point about the wheels in the pic I found, those black with polished rims don't look standard.
