pilote powers are not a good choice for your track days, they are too long to warm up.. they are good for commuting!!

I love the Dunlop 208. I have the front and rear. The only bad thing about the front is it picks up alot more stone and **** on the road than the stock Bridgestone. When I did stoppies on the stock front tire... if my weight wasn't far enough forward or I didn't bounce it the tire would lock up! With my new 208 I can lean all the way back and slam on the brake and it will bring the back right up. Never locked up once. Great trackion for the road.

what tire pressures are you running at the track? The warm up time is quite short compared to other street tires.

If you plan on doing any aggressive riding (whether the twisties or the track), I do not suggest getting a size bigger than the stock size. It'll slow down your turn-in and you're contact patch will only increase at extreme lean angles.

I've gone from Bridgestone BT010s to BT 014s. they are stickier and warm up much faster - i was on the edge within 100 miles of them being fitted! They inspire a lot of confidence. I've had a lot of feedback saying that they last longer than the 010s as well as being stickier!

010s lasted just under 3.5k miles until they started to shred. Most of that was this year (last year was a crap summer in England so didn't get much of an outing!).

i have mine at 36psi front and 39 psi rear - below recommended for road use but (slightly) above track - so suits my road racing just fine.

I have a 96 F3. I put stock size Pirelli Diablo Strata on the front, it is advertised to have long life, fast warm ups and good wet weather handling. i have ridden recently on 40 degree mornings and after a block the tire is warm to the touch. The handling has been great. I got it mounted and balanced on my wheel for $130.00. The rear for $135.00 around here it was a good deal. Up here in the U.P. of Michigan we have plenty of cold wet mornigs in the sping and this time of year. They have been better thaqn the factory originals.

32 is okay for the front but 42 is way too high for the rear. You want to be somewhere between 30 - 32 depending on the temperature.

My bike calls for 42 psi in the rear, 36 front. Why do you want to put 30-32?

Optimal grip comes when the tires are at 30 - 32 psi. At the 36/42 (f/r), your tires will never heat up enough. But, as always, there are tradeoffs. While you get the best grip at these pressures, you get sh!tty mileage.

Keep in mind that the factory recommendations are for things like long tire life and full loads (e.g with a passenger).
