Default What do you think of these Volatage Readings?

Alright, Im all confused now. My bike all of a sudden is staring up like a champ, no problems.

So Im leaning away from it being a fuel problem, checked the fuel pump working fine.

So I checked the voltage of battery while the bike OFF and got 12.90

Then I cranked bike ON and got 13.67 or so @5000 RPM Will not go past that.

Do you think this reading is acceptable for the rectifier/regulator, or do you think its definitely shot?

What Im doing now is testing my battery. I charged it and took it off the bike and Im trying to see if the battery loses charge just by sitting arround. By tomorrow morning (if the battery is faulty) it shuld lose noticeable charge right?

Thanks!

Yes I saw that on the manual....but I was hoping someone told me its too low LOL...

Im at a loss as what could have caused the problem.....the bike turns on fine now but Im afraid to go anywhere...

Is it possible that when the bike heats up the rectifier stops working completely?

Anything is possible but if it was a car I would lean toward the coil. When mine starting having problems some days it would run great and other days I couldn't get 2 miles from the house without it quiting. I replace almost everything before I found the problem. Sorry I can't help more because I know how it feels when your bike starts to feel like a money hole that want end.

thanks i appreciate your input...yeah thats exactly what I want to avoid..I want to know for sure what the problem is before I start to change things....

Mynext step is is going to be to mount the battery back on (so far is holding charge just fine) and just ride arround in circles to see if I can get it to quit on me, then I can then again troubleshoot.
