I never quite understood the grab handle option, it seems like that's a mostly European model addition? I imagine you could just get one of those and then get it chromed. I actually just finished my muffler setup for my undertail. Modeled similarly, but I tucked more of it underneath. In the video he really has those pipes sticking out. Anyway, here are a few pictures, sorry for the poor quality. I will get good pictures when everything is done.

Default better pictures

Better pictures of my dual pipes. Exactly what I wanted. Now just have to finalize the mid-pipe and I will be done. Unfortunately the mid-pipe will probably be the most difficult part as it will require specific mandrel bends. I may end up bringing it to a guy with the proper equipment and just suck it up and pay.

I got a few more pictures of some updates on the exhaust. I was going to bring the bike somewhere and have them just do the mid-pipe section. I was under the impression that bigger more specialized muffler shops have mandrel benders. After going to a few places and calling a few more, I found this not to be the case. They all have the same bender that just squishes the pipe in the middle. I could have it fabricated up with this sort of pipe, but I hate the way it looks. So my efforts to pawn off more frustration and work on some other guy failed. I bought 2 45degree mandrel bent sections of my usual 2" 16gauge ss pipe. They clear the seat and actually seem like they will fab up nicely together and with the section of the mid-pipe I already made up. Now that I am out of school, I can really put some time into this thing. I should have it all done in the next week or two. Do some test riding and then ceramic coat the whole thing.

there seems to be a lack of reaction to what you have done???

I think it is EXTREMELY awesome.

You are doing such clean work, keep it up!

Thanks! I think it's pretty cool too. Doing clean work sucks though. Takes too much time, but I am like OCD about certain things so it works out well too haha. Spicy seems to be getting all the attention with his under-tail endeavor. Once it's finished and I get a sound clip up there, ill get some more hits haha. Thanks again though.

Default Update!!!

So everything is all welded up, baffled, packed and sealed together. Came out pretty well all-in-all. I am painting the header pipe now, but did have the whole setup on the bike running. MUCH louder than my previous d&d pipe. I haven't really run it that much so its hard to pin the sound on something everyone can relate to. I will have to see what it sounds like at 8k RPM and up, didn't really rev it up too much before. Now the put back together process. Should be finishing up soon, I hope. Will post new developments soon.

Default Undertail final

I have a few videos for all. Rainy day so decided to make a few. I will get some distance shots when it gets nicer out. I lost track half way through of my total investment because I was just ordering so many materials I never ended up using. The total investment as you see it for materials is probably somewhere around $250-300 if you shop carefully. I did the labor myself so no cost there. To get those pipes expanded so they fit into each other is about $10 at any muffler shop. As said in the video everything is 304ss 16g. All the tubing is 2".

I used a 45degree coming up from the header and two 45degrees going into the mufflers. The mufflers are 3.5" and 10.5" long. The outlet tips are 2" slash cut. It sounds good, a little louder than I had assumed. It's a bit weird, at idle and up to about 4k its pretty loud, once you hit 5-6 it quiets down, then from there up it gets louder as the rev's climb but stays as a nice note, not too loud. I would like for them to be a little quieter but I like them as-is. I used to have a D&D which was perfect. Quiet normally and then really screamed when you got on it. I don't know if that comes down to the length of the exhaust or the materials they use or what, but it was perfect.

As stated, this winter, I will refine the design and hope to perfect it as time goes on. I am interested in hearing any ideas, concepts or opinions on it. Always looking for some extra creativity. Thanks.
