Troubles

RE: Troubles
Ya know, I've heard people talk about stories, but I don't know anyone who has personally had a problem related to that. I ran my F3 dry and it died as I pulled up to the pump. After filling back up, it started right away. On the fuel petcock, the fuel inlet that sticks up into the tank has a strainer on it. Then there is a paper filter between it and the fuel pump. I personally think it would be kind of tough for something to get past them. I think the stories are left over from the time before modern technology. IMO that is.

RE: Troubles
Thanks for the replies. I was out having fun on the river over the weekend!!! I took all the fairings off to access the carbs and decided to go ahead and replace the fuel filter and check the air filter while I was there. Filter looks clean. My main goal was to inspect the plugs on the carb for cracks but haven't got down to that point yet. I'll put it back together tonight and see what happens. The previous owner said it has a new fuel pump, ignition box, plug wires and carbs where just sync'd in 07. Only has 11000 miles on it so she's still fresh.
IDODIRT, I kind of figured that, makes since why it did what it did. I still don't like the minor surging it does at cruising speed.Only seems to be a problem around 6500. Not sure if it's just doing it because it's outside the power band ornot. You roll the throttle and itresponds, starting to thinkit is what it is.
