Smile Tires

Whats a good set of tires to get? This is my first bike and I dont have a clue on what tires to get or what they do, I hate taking the advice of the people that sell tires I would rather listen to the people that buy them and can tell how they perform. What a good price?

My last two sets of tires have been Bridgestone's 016's. I ride the canyons 200 miles or so every weekend and they work great. Michelin 2CT's are highly reccomended also. Have a set of Bridgestone 003's for the track. Have run them only once on the street no complants. A set of either of these runs around $220 +/-.
Check out both these sites:

Hope this helps,

The problem with that reasoning is that the people who buy tires probably use one set (maybe two) a year and the people who sell them see worn tires and get feedback from customers on a constant basis.

This is why you're going to hear most people going die hard for one brand, which happens to be the only brand they've used for the last X years.

I really like my Bridgestone BT021s. Dual compound with a harder inner for great commuting and some excellent performance in more aggressive riding. You'll probably get the suggestion of Pilot Power PP2cts also, which seem to be essentially the same class of tire. I went with the BT021s on the recomendation of a guy at my local shop due to a better deal than the PP2cts I was looking at.

That said, there's about 1,000,001 threads on this topic in this and other sections and if you take a few minutes to search, you'll get more opinions and facts and embellishments on performance than you know what to do with.
