Tires

Hey guys.... I have two questions:
1. What tire would you guys recommend for 100% street riding. I'd like to make the most of the tires (long lasting), but would also like them to be grippy for the odd time I go for a spirited ride. I'm also on a budget... so something affordable![Smile](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
2. How badly will my handling be effected by going to 170, instead of 160? We don't have many curvy roads where I live, but I so occasionally ride 2-3 hours away to hit up some nice roads once in a while.
Thanks!

I'm also interested in this as I need to order new tires and will be doing so within a few days. I've read that the Michelin Power Pilot 2CT are as good as it gets. Motorcycle Superstore has them for around $215 shipped, and is what I will be ordering unless better suggestions or prices are out there.
BTW can I confirm stock sizes are 120/60/17 and 160/60/17?

Other than Pilot PC2, are there any other recommendations?
Thanks.

Everyone has their favorite (in other words, whatever they have on their bike). I'm running Bridgestone Battlax BT021s right now and have been very satisfied. They're a dual compound tire, so the center is harder and that is great as I commute on my bike but also like to ride on the weekends.
Whatever brand you choose, I'd be sure to go for something that has the dual compound since you say you'll be doing 100% street riding. It'll last longer and you can still lean it over if you want to in the twisties. I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of the bigger brands, and I recommend my tire in particular.

The previous owner replaced the tires on mine with Shinko Advance (126/60R17 and 160/60R17) at about 5800 miles (I got it at 6,000 miles). The tire is pretty good, considering the bad rap alot of people give Shinko. I've already had to ride home in a huge downpour with them, dusty conditions and normal dry (Cold and warm weather). They're good. I had NO scary moments in the rain with them, and they are pretty prdictable when they begin to slide when pushing them in the dry.
That being said, I've always been a Bridgestone fan....
